Working Drawing

Working drawing for the next Linocut. If this works out it will be my submission to this years Leeds Open Exhibition.
Thanks Keith Yes from this view point you are much further into the gorge. From here you get more of a feeling of the cliffs closing in which hopefully the portrait format will enhance.
I studied illustration at Dyfed College of Art, Carmarthen, graduating in 1984. The works shown on this site are based on observations and drawings made directly from life in the field. The field sketches are mostly drawn using a Rotring Art Pen or a soft 6B pencil. The finished studio pieces are generally linocuts but I have recently started working with drypoints and mezzotints. I like the dramatic feeling of this. I think it's more like the way I would treat the subject, compared with the acrylic painting.
