"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Not much to see yet

A new block inked up and ready for the first colour.

Colour One, a pale cream, with enough of the drawing offset from the block to give some idea of the composition.

Colour Two is the above colour with the addition of a very small amount of Cadmium Red to give a pale peach/pink colour.

Colour Three, again is the above colour with the addition of a little purple.

Colour Four, a light blue completes the sky and adds shadows on to the distant hillside. Another snow scene based on my winter sketches from the moors above Holmfirth.

Colour Five, a light brown for patches of moorland showing through the snow on the windblown areas of the moor.

Colour Six, a purplish colour for the distant woodands and base colour for the foreground road.

Colour Seven, slightly darker tone of the above colour for texture on the road surface, to give form to the distant trees and shadow for the foreground tree on the right.
