"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Collaborations

I was recently approached by the Sculptor Robert Jakes asking for permission to use my image of a swimming Otter from a linocut I did last year.

He had been commissioned to carve a series of benches for Rosemoor Nature Reserve at Walwyns Castle, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. I was intrigued as to how Robert would use the image and have been waiting in anticipation for a glimpse of the finished piece. It has been well worth the wait..

Wonderful, it could have been made for it.

Hasn't it transferred perfectly. How has it been done - is it carved out then coloured, or burned in, or just printed on??

Hi Keith

Yes I was pleased with how he has used the image.

Hi Jennifer

Robert has carved it and then coloured it in. In effect he has reproduced my linoblock on the back of the bench. I suppose I could take a big sheet of paper some Ink and take a print from it!
