Long Tailed Tit
Long tailed Tit
Drypoint
69mm x 130mm
Edition of 20
A small, quick drypoint made simply, by placing a piece of clear plastic over my original field sketch drawing and scratching the design directly on to the plate.

Hen Harrier - Drypoint
Hen Harrier
Drypoint
67mm x 110mm
A quick little drypoint study of the most persecuted bird in Britain. The plate was made from a piece of clear plastic which I placed over my original pen sketch and scratched through with a drypoint needle.

Littondale
It's been a month since I last posted any finished work. The last few weeks have been busy with a number of art fairs so I haven't spent much time on doing any new work. I finished drawing out this drypoint earlier this week but have only got around to printing it this morning.

Lindisfarne
Yesterday I delivered some prints to the By Hand Gallery Shop at Salford Art Gallery. Today has been mostly spent printing this edition of 20 Drypoint prints. Once they are dry I'll scan one and post a better picture.

Slow start.
After what seems like an age since my last post, almost a full month. It's time for a catch up with the latest linocut on the bench.
Colour 1. A pale blue grey. At this stage it's hard to judge if I've gone too pale. Hopefully not.
Colour 2. A darker warmer grey.
Colour 3. The first pale green.
Colour 4. A second darker grey.
Colour 5. The first blue. A turquoise to ultramarine blend.
Colour 6. The second darker green.
Colour 7. A second darker blue.
Two further colours should see this print finished. In between working on this I have also been preparing another Mezzotint plate and managed to draw out and print a Drypoint.
Cliffs near Llangrannog.
