"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Colours 3 and 4

Third colour is an ochre/green printed across the foreground. To represent the vegetation showing through the thawing snow.

After that next is a darker blue colour for the deeper shadows on the snow.

Winter on the moor

The first two colours on the next print. And still continuing with the winter theme of the previous print. This is the moorland south of Holmfirth at the head of the Don Valley. Apologies for the dodgy quality of the photography on the first picture.

Three more colours

The next three colours bring the print almost to a finish. First is a grey to define the distant woodlands.

Then a darker shade of the same colour and finally the full composition is revealed.

Next is a darker tone of the yellow ochre used earlier to give some more form to the foreground vegetation.

All that is left to do now is some final darks in the foreground.
