"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Back to the print

After this weekends trip to Temple Newsam it's back to work on the Bamburgh Castle print. Before I left for the art fair I had printed colour 11. Here it is.

I am happy with the waves in the foreground and the tone of the shadowed parts of the castle. But the bushes below the castle are now far too blue in colour and need knocking back to green. So that was todays project.

A little bit of careful cutting, as you can see, not much of the block is left now. And then a dark green.

Much better. Just a final dark to pick out some detail in the castle and then it will be finished.
