"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

An Interesting Experiment

Speeton and Bempton Cliffs
Reduction Linocut
253mm x 360mm
Edition of 3

Finished the latest print in only 6 colour passes. Although as each printing was a blended roll there are actually somewhere around 10 or 11 colours in the print. This has given it a certain colour harmony, which has gone someway towards what I was trying to achieve. And it was an interesting experiment to make an entire print using blended colourings. But looking at it against the rest of my work it looks out of place, almost as if it has been done by someone else.

Lovely color harmony, but I'd still know it as your work. (You're gonna be hooked on blended color now, voice of experience.)Your design sense always shines through.

Thanks Sherrie. You're right it is quite compulsive working this way. Trying another one now.
