"The artist...is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of a tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Easing back to work

Colour 1.

Unusually for me I have three prints on the go at once. More on the others later, this one is the simplest, two colours plus black. For once I have a plan and I am sticking to it. This is for a demonstration piece, my intention being to  print the final black as part of a talk I will be giving at Doncaster Art Gallery next week. The next colour to print will be a blue for the sky and the colder toned shadows and then a final black to tie it all together. It's a  long time since I made a print using such a restricted  number of colours and it's been quite a challenge to pare everything down and resist the temptation to add another few colours.
The scene is of Dent in the Cumbrian part of the Yorkshire Dales.
