Thanks for the comments.

If it didn't work it would have been a waste of lino, which I could have better used on a new block.

Keith, It took me a long time to decide to post the print and admit that I thought it had gone wrong. Had I not been posting the step by step stages I could have simply thrown it in the bin and started again.

You may be right Katka, I do tend to be a bit over critical with my work, in the past I have ripped up or thrown away work which other people thought was perfectly acceptable. One of the hardest things is to accept that what we see as faults in our work are not necessarliy picked up on by others when they view it.Stuart Brocklehursthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01901116311000910745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2995742646070974482.post-45958294817132756212010-10-06T06:19:09.645+01:002010-10-06T06:19:09.645+01:00I see what you mean by the two colours being very ...I see what you mean by the two colours being very similar in value and I definitely relate to a print not turning out the way you've envisioned it in your head.

That said, while it may not be what you'd planned for, calling this a failure seems a bit harsh. Perhaps after a few days it will grow on you. I think you did say we tend to be more critical of our own work right?Katkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07787758413391041363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2995742646070974482.post-68979479644335200662010-10-03T23:39:17.611+01:002010-10-03T23:39:17.611+01:00I'm sorry this one didn't work out Stuart,...I'm sorry this one didn't work out Stuart, but thanks for showing us what went wrong.Keith Tilleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04114006831583939493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2995742646070974482.post-64085131986695526602010-10-03T22:03:22.885+01:002010-10-03T22:03:22.885+01:00Maybe it's a misalignment of stars. I've got one on the table that's not looking too promising, either.

You *could* cut a second block to cover the areas of the blue you find offensive, but it's easy for me to talk. (I usually walk away at this point, too.)Sherrie Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01967844327055630854noreply@blogger.com
